Every day...

Honestly, every day I'm with Andrew I am totally reminded why I love him so much. We are dorks, absolutely- but it's more fun than not being dorks- and since we both see it that way it is awesome.

So- he flew in late thursday night. I had a sammich for him, which he ate in covert near napkin-less-ness. But he prevailed. Really there was just sleep because I had class the following day. I got out early, however- and then we napped, ate some food, and I went to work for a little while. Later, we went to All-Con, where I helped with Iron Cosplay, and even got to play Anime Win, Lose, or Draw. Our team came in second (out of two) but it doesn't matter. It meant I got the 10 dvd box set of Ninja Vixens. I should point out that this is a live action set of movies that are almost embarassingly bad, but are definitely hilarious. Well, the one I saw anyways. I fell half way asleep through "Carnal Enchantment". No, these are not porn, but the marketing team would like you to think they are. Kinda like how Dominion Tank Police was marketed.

Friday night was hectic trips to H-Mart and Wal-mart for ingredients, followed by much cooking and craziness. Andrew has adapted to insane-cooking-cat mode. He knows when there is danger of me getting fire eyes. :) He helped me out, and in relatively short measure (well, a few hours) I had most of the things ready for the tea party.

Saturday morning I was up at 8, to make tea sammiches and soba noodle salad. We loaded up, dressed up, and headed off to the con. At 11 I had a panel on food in anime that was attended by like... 5 people (most of whom wandered in at the last few minutes). I am really glad Caroline made me all those awesome clips - they totally made the panel. I had a little time off (some of which was spent playing guitar hero) before the tea party, which was very well received. We ran out of chairs. Jeremy pointed out that this was a vast improvement over the first year- where I had to run around and *beg* people to attend. (Admittedly, that year- it was at like 10 or 11 am.)

Right after the tea party was the bento panel, and I guess I need to start planning for more people when I do those. This panel was attended by 13 people! That's great! We had a little issue with the rice.... but all went well and I think people were happy over all.

After that, I ran to the cosplay prejudging. I have to say that holding the cosplay on saturday night yields far more entries and that is awesome. We even had more than one skit this year. WHOA. Devin totally cracked me up with his reenactment of Metal Gear Awesome. CRAB BATTLE. After the cosplay I randomly participated in anime jeopardy, which I won. What? This is slightly hilarious since I barely passed the qualifier (and last year I didn't pass it)- and I really only won because of my anagram skillz or something.

Ran into Kyle again, which is cool. Yay old friends. A gajillion of us went to Ghengis Grill, which was full of flavor, as always. We even managed to squeak in a trip to yogurt land which yielded tasty results, and even a few converts. Yeah!

Sunday was some church, followed by some naps, followed by... geez... what did we do? Oh yes, Tracy visited and we watched "My Name is Bruce" which was fairly awesome. Good times. Monday I totally skipped class. Take THAT Food and Beverage Cost Control! Instead we went to downtown Dallas to get my wallet back, and later we went to the MADI museum, a potential reception venue. It was really cool and full of awesome art. My only potential worry is that a rock band might not fit inside, and we might have to be creative if we want any dancing. Still, you can't beat the price, and at 500.00 it's definitely worth some creative thinking.

Tuesday was some late napping, dim sum, and then yogurt land and print club. It was a great way to end the visit.

Just getting to take a nap next to my boy whenever I felt like it was great. Riding around in the car listening to our silly music was awesome. We totally spent an extra hour or so getting home from Dallas, just because riding around was fun. He had good time at All-Con, which is all I could hope for, agreeing with me that it was more enjoyable than A-kon. He wore silly costumes with me and danced around with me. We ate all manner of tasty foods, which is always the best. It doesn't hurt things that he is genuinely one of the kindest and sweetest people I know. Oh and the glasses. Yay for glasses. I totally found his first white hair, and he freaked for a minute- but I told him how awesome it would be to be old people. He's gonna be in his lab coat- this little old chemist dude, jumping around and doing experiments. And I'm going to be this little old lady in the kitchen making dumplings at light speed. WE WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE. That's right, I'm asking you for a challenge.

I miss you already, Drew...

You should do a panel at the next b-geeks reunion! I *LOVE* food, so I will definitely attend!
