Despite my absence from all of your friends pages, I'm not dead! I've just been so insanely busy that I haven't more than smattering of time on LJ at any given moment (and it's not accessible when I'm at After the Bell). Here is more or less what my days look like:
Monday/Wednesday: Wake up at 5:30 or 6 (depending on if I'm getting a ride) - Class from 7-12, grab cheap lunch, take the bus home to get home at 1, collapse until 2:15, take bus to work, work 3-6, take bus and get home at 7. Lather, rinse repeat.
Tuesday/Thursday/Friday is basically the same, except instead of home I go to Brookhaven and do AVID.
Tuesday nights I head over to Chris' and we do our podcast, so I really don't get home til 9. Fridays sometimes we'll play videogames or something? (Lately, not so much cause of business. Friday, Holly might do an early recording with us?)
Speaking of the podcast- it is kind of hilarious. We have a fan, so I guess that means we're doing as well as Flight of the Conchords. http://marryshagcliff.podbean.com
I have a million stupid 1 page papers to write for English. Not difficult, by any means- just TIME CONSUMING and TEDIOUS and we get like... one every day. The woman justifies this by telling us a day's worth of class is worth a week at another school (I can't imagine spending a week on one chapter...) but that doesn't mean we go home and magically have a week's worth of evenings to do the work she assigns. Most, if not all of us work evenings. Honestly maybe... three or four of the assignments she's given us have been relevant at all.
I'm doing what I can to make the class interesting though. I've been writing papers about zombie attacks ("Great story!") as well as fighting flaming bears, ("This was supposed to be true!") and my description of a lemon (actually a devious lime who I exposed in a devastating article) had the class rolling.
Also, in a desperate attempt to be an overachiever I'm attempting to enter any and all contests I can. I did a bad-ass Alice in Wonderland pumpkin (pictures coming) and won first place as well as "best themed" which earned me two certificates and a medal. I don't know if the accolade is good for anything in the real world, but I feel special.
In addition to that Jeremy (Adams) and Matthew (Lord Harlock) and I created a carefully orchestrated plan to get me to Denton for the Halloween/Cosplay meeting of Mek this year. I made a Rice-Crispy Treat Tonberry to take, which had a lot of people totally flipping out. (It also freaked out Britt and Jeremy when I just casually took a seat next to them.) 90% of the people there didn't know who I was, but I did get to chat with old friends and stuff. Skypirate was there so I got to play catch up with him as well which was great. The cosplay contest was VERY entertaining. Devin came in wearing a cardboard box, and we were expecting to see his cool Snake costume. HOW SURPRISED WERE WE when he discarded the box to reveal NAKED RAIDEN (okay, bodysuit wearing raiden) and ran through the room. Answer: VERY
As he ran past I asked him to introduce me to Otacon. Alden contended that I was jealous because Otacon wasn't gay for me. It took me a while to wrap my head around that one.
Last night I came straight to church from work, threw on my Snow White costume and painted faces for an hour and a half. Faith, from AVID came to visit me so that was nice. Afterwards I went to Chilli's with the Kidsons and that was great. They are such a super cool family. Monica was dressed as a Mad Scientist and Rose was Link. How cool are those kids? Cooler than proper capitalization, that's for sure. ^_^
I miss everyone!
